Doctrine & Worship

What We Believe . . .

WE BELIEVE that the Bible is the inspired, infallible (unalterable) Word of God, written by Holy men of old as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

WE BELIEVE in one God who is infinite in power, holy in nature, attributes, and purposes, as well as omniscient and omnipotent and omnipresent.

WE BELIEVE that He was revealed to us as Father in creation, as Son in redemption, and as the Holy Spirit in His comforting grace that never leaves those who trust Him.

WE BELIEVE that in Jesus dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily, for it pleased the Father that in Him should all fullness dwell.

WE BELIEVE in the Virgin Birth; Jesus was both human and divine. He was God manifested in the flesh.

WE BELIEVE in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. We believe that He ascended on high and has sent His spirit, the Holy Ghost, which was poured out at Jerusalem over 1900 years ago. And it is this same Spirit that is filling the hearts of those who diligently seek Him today.

WE BELIEVE in baptism in water by immersion in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and in the baptism of the Holy Ghost; speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. This constitutes the new birth.

WE BELIEVE in a holy sanctified life. We believe in divine healing, communion, and footwashing. We believe in the glorious catching away (the rapture) of the saints when Jesus returns in the clouds in glory to take His people to heaven.

OUR CHIEF AIM is to glorify our Saviour, who is Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity and purify unto Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

Why We Worship As We Do . . .

Why do we stand to sing?
"And the Levites, of the children of the Korhites, STOOD UP to praise the Lord God of Israel with a loud voice on high." 2 Chronicles 20:19

Why do we clap our hands?

"O CLAP YOUR HANDS, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph." Psalms 47:1

Why do we dance before the Lord?

"Let them praise his name in the DANCE; let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp." Psalms 149:3

Why do we lift our hands?

"I will therefore that men pray every where, LIFTING UP HOLY HANDS, without wrath and doubting." I Timothy 2:8

Why do we have speaking with tongues and interpretation of those tongues?

"Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophecy, and forbid not to SPEAK WITH TONGUES." I Corinthians 14:39
"If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most three, and that by course; and LET ONE INTERPRET." I Corinthians 14:27

Why do we prophesy?

"Follow after charity, and DESIRE SPIRITUAL GIFTS, but rather that ye may PROPHESY." I Corinthians 14:1

Why do we say "amen"?

"Blessed be the Lord God of Israel for ever and ever. AND ALL THE PEOPLE SAID, AMEN, and praised the Lord." I Chronicles 16:36 -- When we say amen, we are agreeing with what is being said. Amen means "Let it be" or "So be it."

Why do we say "Praise the Lord"?

"And in that day shall ye say, PRAISE THE LORD, call upon his name, declare his doings among the people, make mention that his name is exalted." Isaiah 12:4

Why do we anoint with oil?

"Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, ANOINTING HIM WITH OIL in the name of the Lord:" James 5:14
